Lexington’s Asian restaurants gather in three places: downtown, on Short, Main, Upper and Maxwell streets; along South Limestone and South Upper by the University of Kentucky; and on Southland Drive. Others sit on Richmond Road, Old Todds Road and Old Harrodsburg Road.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Lexington-Fayette, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 16, 2026. Many of these restaurants have no working website; we kept those only where the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s records show a 2026 inspection at that address, and the phones for them come from our directory records. We added Omakase, which its own site places at 848 E. High St. Health department records list well over 100 Asian restaurants in Fayette County; this first list covers the ones in our directory data, and we will add more each quarter. We left out Tomo, Oshimi Sushi, Lee’s Garden, Han Woo Ri, Sugano and Yummy Yummy, which we could not confirm as open, and campus dining. The list is alphabetical. Archa Nine Thai Kitchen. An independently owned, family-run Thai restaurant that opened in 2016 on Old Todds Road and added a second kitchen at South Elkhorn Village in summer 2023. Its dishes are made from scratch from family recipes and Thai street food, and it says most of the menu is vegan-friendly and much of it can be made gluten-free.

Ginger Wasabi Sushi + Grill. A sushi and teriyaki grill on West Maxwell Street that opens at 4 p.m. and stays open late. It takes online orders for pickup.

Golden Buffet. A buffet restaurant on Richmond Road, open seven days a week.

Kung Fu Noodle. A noodle shop on South Upper Street whose menu includes Lanzhou beef noodle soup.

Omakase Sushi & Sake Bar. A sushi and sake bar on East High Street in Chevy Chase.

School Sushi. A downtown sushi restaurant on West Short Street that runs an eating challenge with a hall of fame; call to register.

The places without websites. Cheng’s, Koreana, Mai Thai, Michikusa, Nat’s, Okome Asian Grill, Pho BC, Sushi Blue, Taste of Thai and Wong Wong each had a health inspection at the address shown between May and October 2026. Cheng’s website no longer shows the restaurant. Call ahead for hours.
