Mother's Day 2027 is May 9. Mayfest in Gratz Park, the farmers market for gifts, what the city held for moms in 2026, and where to find brunch in Lexington.

Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. This page is updated each year at the same address. Mother’s Day 2027 is seven months away and most organizers have not posted dates, so 2026 events are marked with their year. We list brunches only from restaurants’ own pages.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9, 2027. Here is what we know so far: the downtown arts fair, where to buy a gift from local growers and makers, what the city held last year and where to find brunch.

Mayfest Arts Fair in Gratz Park

Mayfest is the Downtown Lexington Partnership’s juried art fair, with “a focus on a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.” The partnership says it brings up to 100 artist vendors and local concessions to Gratz Park, with live performances on the Gratz Park stage and free activities for all ages. It is a good place to buy a gift from a local artist and spend an afternoon with family.

The partnership had not posted 2027 dates as of Oct. 12; its page says to “stay tuned for information in 2027.” Downtown Lexington Partnership: 859-407-2227.

Gifts from local growers and makers

The Lexington Farmers Market runs every Saturday downtown at the Fifth Third Pavilion in Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. from April through October, plus a Sunday market on Southland Drive. Flowers, plants and baked goods make easy gifts. Details and the weekday markets are in our farmers markets guide.

Brunch

As of Oct. 12, no Lexington restaurant had posted a Mother’s Day 2027 brunch. We will list special menus here, from each restaurant’s own page, as they are announced. Restaurants that serve brunch every weekend are in our brunch guide.

A walk outdoors

Spring is wildflower season at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary; its Yellow Trail peaks from April to May, according to the city. Raven Run is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from May through September. It allows no pets or bikes, and the city closes the entrance when the lot is full. More ideas: walking and biking trails, free things to do and date night in Lexington.

What is open

Mother’s Day is not on the city’s holiday collection schedule, so trash pickup runs on normal days (trash and recycling). The Lexington Public Library lists no Mother’s Day closure.
