Lexington Farmers Market runs year-round Saturdays downtown, Sundays on Southland Drive and Tuesdays and Thursdays on National Avenue. SNAP is doubled.

Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. Facts on this page come from the Lexington Farmers Market and the City of Lexington’s Mobile Market page. Market hours change with the seasons; check the market’s page for the day before you go. City questions: LexCall, 311 or 859-425-2255.

The Lexington Farmers Market is the city’s main producers’ market, a nonprofit that runs several markets a week across town. Its anchor is the Saturday market downtown, open every week of the year. The city also runs a Mobile Market, a grocery store on wheels that stops in neighborhoods without a grocery store nearby.

What this means for you

  • Saturday downtown is the big one: over 50 vendors from more than 30 Kentucky counties in June, July and August, the market says, and still open through the winter.
  • SNAP shoppers get a match of up to $20 a day in Kentucky Double Dollars for local produce, meat, eggs and dairy.
  • Street meters downtown are free on Saturdays.

Lexington Farmers Market locations

From the market’s locations and hours:

Day Where Hours
Saturday, year-round Fifth Third Pavilion, Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park (formerly Cheapside Park), downtown 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April-October; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in winter
Sunday 398 Southland Drive, near Geno’s Formal Affair and Winchell’s 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday National Avenue in the Warehouse Block, at the Mirror Twin Brewing lot 7 a.m. until vendors sell out, no later than 4 p.m.
Wednesday Greyline Station, 101 W. Loudon Ave. 4 to 7 p.m., every other week in September

Saturday is the anchor market, beside the historic courthouse downtown. The market says its peak season runs April through October, and the weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas are busy. From January through March it is smaller, but vendors still bring meat, baked goods, storage crops such as sweet potatoes and turnips, and early spring vegetables, according to its Saturday page.

Sunday on Southland Drive is laid-back and has a hard 10 a.m. start: vendors do not begin selling before then. There is parking in the nearby commercial lots, the market’s Sunday page says.

Tuesday and Thursday on National Avenue often close before 4 p.m. when vendors sell out, according to the Tuesday and Thursday page.

The market also runs smaller community farmstands with five to 15 farmers each, including one in Greater Gardenside on Alexandria Drive from 4 to 7 p.m., June 5 to mid-September, per its farmstands page.

Parking downtown on Saturday

LexPark’s metered street parking stays free on Saturdays, the market said in a September 2026 update. It also said that because of changes to the garage validation program, it cannot validate parking in any garage for now.

SNAP, EBT and Kentucky Double Dollars

All Lexington Farmers Market locations take SNAP, and every vendor selling eligible food accepts the market’s EBT tokens, according to its SNAP and Double Dollars page:

  1. Swipe your SNAP EBT card at the market manager’s booth. You get the amount you swipe in SNAP tokens.
  2. Fruit and vegetable match (green tokens): swipe at least $2 and you get a match of at least $2, up to $12 a person a day, to spend on Kentucky-grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and plant starts.
  3. Meat, eggs and dairy match (purple tokens): after the first $12 swipe, additional swipes of at least $2 earn matching tokens in $2 steps, up to $8, for Kentucky-farmed meat, eggs or dairy.

That is a maximum of $20 in matching tokens a person a day. Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and WIC vouchers are accepted only by farmers registered for those programs.

The city’s Mobile Market

The Mobile Market is a 60-foot trailer with a single-aisle grocery store inside, run by the city with The Kroger Co. and God’s Pantry. It carries fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, meat, cheese and yogurt plus some household goods. It is cashless: pay by debit or credit card or SNAP EBT. Stops are posted on the Mobile Market calendar.
