Father’s Day week in 2026

Lexington Parks and Recreation’s free summer series filled the week before Father’s Day 2026 (Sunday, June 21). The 2027 schedules come out in spring; these show what the week usually holds:

  • Big Band and Jazz, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Moondance Amphitheater, 1152 Monarch St.: free, bring a chair or blanket (city page).
  • Yappy Hour, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Pleasant Ridge Park: food trucks, live music and dogs (city page).
  • Southland Jamboree, Thursday, June 18, 2026, 7 p.m., Moondance Amphitheater in Beaumont Center: free bluegrass, picnics and well-behaved dogs welcome, with a jam after the show for anyone who brings an instrument (city page).

Lexington Parks and Recreation runs five public golf courses: the Gay Brewer Jr. Course at Picadome, central Kentucky’s first public course; Kearney Hill Golf Links, designed by Pete and P.B. Dye; Lakeside; Meadowbrook; and Tates Creek. Tee times are booked online through Play Golf Lex, 469 Parkway Drive.

Keeneland and horses

Keeneland, 4201 Versailles Road, says its landscaped grounds are open to the public every day, and visitors are welcome for tours, morning workouts, the Keeneland Shop and the library. Keeneland calls its Track Kitchen a morning highlight, with home-style food. Phone 859-254-3412.

Baseball

The Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League play at Legends Field. In 2026 their home season ran from April 24 to Sept. 6, according to the team’s schedule release. The 2027 schedule is not out. Ticket office: 859-422-7867.
