What the city held in 2026
Lexington Parks and Recreation put on a run of Valentine’s events in the week before the holiday. The city calendar for February 2027 is not out yet; these are last year’s, to show what to expect. Parks and Recreation: 859-288-2925.

A few details from the 2026 listings:
- The twilight hike was about 1.5 miles at sunset over easy to moderately rugged ground, with uneven sections. Online registration and payment were required for everyone.
- The printmaking workshop was drop-in for all ages; children 12 and under needed an adult.
- The cooking classes made cookies and desserts on one night and a Galentine’s dinner on another.
Date ideas that do not depend on the calendar
- Raven Run Nature Sanctuary. A 734-acre city sanctuary on the Kentucky River, with 10 miles of trails and a 70-foot overlook of the river palisades, according to the city’s Raven Run page. Winter hours, November through March, are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pets, alcohol and bikes are not allowed. Nature Center: 859-272-6105.
- Dinner, a show or live music. Restaurants, theaters, wine bars and late openings, each with its official link, are in date night in Lexington. Music venues are in live music and nightlife.

Restaurants and special menus
As of Oct. 12, no Lexington restaurant had posted a Valentine’s Day 2027 menu. We will list special dinners here, with a link to each restaurant’s own page, as they are announced. Feb. 14 falls on a Sunday, so expect weekend crowds.
